Subversion of nostalgic contemporary garden houses in northern Tehran in the past two decades, especially after war has displaces the residents of private real states to apartment buildings and has transformed their life style. A process which in spite of its glamorous reputation has always been alien to social characteristics of its inhabitants and deprived them from their most basic civil rights such as natural light, undistracted views and pedestrian-friendly environments on their surroundings. Despite appropriation to the economic and population growth which acts as multilateral problem to development, presence of architectural supervision in this process have a determinant rule on how the building is inhabited and perceived by its residents.
The Amini’s flat renovation project located in Zaferanie neighborhood in Tehran aims to redesign the interior spaces of a building that is an example of garden houses being converted to apartments.
The mail concept in design is based upon revitalization of nostalgic and identical spaces as resemblance of garden houses. In addition, the design concept tries to respond to demands of everyday life of the residents.
In this process, symmetry and emphasizing on the unique characteristics of spaces in day and night, also utilizing natural symbols with minimalistic approach, endeavors to visualize intellectual fundamentals in a new experience of space
